What I find interesting is that the video shows rear seat belts; I have never seen nor heard of this even as an option. Makes me think maybe they added the seat belts for the American market advertisement. Although the law was passed in '68, manufacturers were still providing them before that, as a known safety item.

This is just going to add to your confusion. These are Togo's factory seat belts for a '66:

These are Limey's factory seat belts for a '68:

And this is a shot from the sales leaflet for a '69 found here Leaflet (although it looks like they used a '66/'67 for the photo):

Ultimately, the choice is yours.

Per everyone's posts, it appears Edgar has original seat belts but we are definitely going to have to get him some new webbing. It looks like rodents did their fair share of damage.

I just sent off three (3) sets of belts to have webbing resewn. I located some original Takata straps, disassembled and refurbished the buckles, and threaded the replacement straps. I should have the belts back from the upholsterer in about four (4) weeks.

For the Patrol, I do have two (2) original, used 1962-1967 buckles and one (1) original used 1968-1969 buckle, as well as a label. I also have some original (used) Datsun 410, 510, and 520/521 straps. Once I have received by three (3) sets back from the upholsterer I plan to ebay the lot! It is difficult to refurbish the belts, I just want to be done with the hole project!!!!

Keith,

Do you have any of the original Takata straps/material leftover?
