I am having door latch problems too. Is there a difference in the star wheels from early and 66-67?

Bpub, I wish I had some answers for you. I have switched out several types with no luck. I can't imagine how just the 66 year model is fouled up but it can be. It seems som work and some don't.

RiverPatrol does have some answers and he has messed with it before. RiverPatrol...do you want to chim in here?

The '66 and '67 were the only years that had the star wheel type latches. They are notorious for wearing out and causing closing issues. Door adjustment is critical to them working properly, including having the proper shims behind the door hinges.

RiverPatrol...this is a new clue so door shims will help. I presume Ready with the Rene can make these. Where to they go...behind the hinges?

They go behind the hinges on the door side of the hinge.

I have adjusted the sill plate all the way in and out and when the star clicks to lock the door it still needs to go in about 1/2 inch to close fully. My question would be does the star wheel have only one click to hold the door closed or should there be two clicks. I have messed with them and can't seen to get the door closed fully.
