Long time ago I scrapped the rear seats on my MWB Patrol. They were rusted underneath and I decided that it was time to let them go. I then installed a regular seat in the back, pointing forward. Haven't regret that change at all.

This Beauty Rocked up in the mail Today, from Rob in New Zealand . He said it still works but Diaphragm is slowly starting to leak that why he never kept using it, nothing a rebuild kit cannot fix.

Also got the manifold Sorted and got new studs put in, painted and Fitted back up with a new manifold gasket, new manifold to head bolts, new stud Nuts and also new Shake proof washers (what a challenge they were to find )

Congrats on scoring an early fuel pump with primer. Nice addition to your ever improving project.

Was there some reason for painting it? Alloy and aluminum parts just need to be wire brushed at most and they're like new! It really is tempting to "freshen up" parts with spray paint but this is a main component that is rare. I'd let it be naked. Just my Yankee opinion though and it is your baby/Patrol......which is coming along. Ready for a Simpson Desert run?

Give Michael some time. That's the finish the the seller had. I do agree with your reasoning for not painting.

From what I remember from my fuel pump with primer, replaced probably in 1976, is that it was leaking oil out of the casing through the pivot of the priming arm. Hope this can be corrected somehow.

Michael, if you dismantle the pump, post a picture and note the length of the diaphragm leg.

Your right the primer pumps are very rare, never seen one in real life before only in pictures. In my Opinion the only thing looking out of place on this G60's engine is the Stromberg Carby , would love to go back to a Hitachi VC42
