Yes, I think Ron must have known something like that when he made them for me. Mine were his HD version.

I just got the first pics of Oso sitting on my new Alcan springs (with temporary wheels/tires). When ordering them, I went with David's advice and got 1 inch of lift on a softened spring. We ended up using the existing shackles and not those I bought from Ron as the lift would have been too much. I have also included a pic of what it looked like on the lift with axle but not carrying vehicle weight. I plan to visit the shop later today or early next week and will take more specific pics then.

OSO got the perfect lift. Do you know the diameter of your tires? I may not need my shackles either.

I believe those are 235/75r16s on there right now just so they can roll it around their yard. I plan to drop by today and will take more pics.

Sad to report that the springs as they are right now are rough as hell and modifications will be needed. I do not plan a ton of off road abuse to my rig - more mud than anything else where I will be driving. All said, the lift is great but the ride is terrible. I will be calling the folks out at Alcan for suggestions.

That's a shame. The Patrol is well known for its comfortable ride. I can attest that they ride smoother than an FJ40, even lifted.

Well, I'm months away from from trying out my Alcan springs in The Green Machine/CCV5 but I did drive Presidio Patrol with standard springs today and it was a pretty good ride. Now, if the springs just are too stiff you can always load the bed with six sacks of sand or Quickrete. That will really calm them down.

Greetings to all Patrollees,

This is the last pre-patrol pictures. Here Presidio Patrol is leaving the warehouse and the next is proof that everyone loves cool old cars. These are the boys we help at the local home for troubled teens and younger. They twisted every knob, flipped every switch and heard it run several times between dinner and desert.

Next post from 1st Patrol,

Looks great. Great story too. Looking forward to more adventure stories from the green machine.
