been exceptionally quiet on this thread
6months to go before departure will go past in a flash
I have earnestly started preparations, began installing two inch lift and certain inspections to ensure reliability and performance,it frustrating at times and. hard times but working to get at the end goal.
how is it going for everyone else

You're right Ferdy, its coming around quickly!!
As discussed on the phone, it sounds like you're making good progress though.
I am still debating dropping the P40 and MK 5 speed into HP. The cross member also needs some proper attention or the guts might fall out on the Tele Track.
So how about an updated roll call?
I will start putting together some solid info for those wanting to come.

Re: 2016 Aussie 60 Patrol Cape York Adventure
I've decided that I will be taking "Mr Muck" on this trip.
No it doesn't have the carrying capacity as HP but the sound of that V8 with the top off ripping up the Old Telegraph track and through the rain forests is just too much of a drawer card.
It then got me thinking...
I have a spare axle from when I built my camper trailer. It is exactly the same track as the G60 and would make an awesome super compact trailer to mount the roof top tent and carry some supplies. Although it would be extremely capable it might be a pain in the arse towing a camper. Not that it might not make it, just might be more fun without it.
This is pretty much exactly how i would build it
159 days to go!

Re: 2016 Aussie 60 Patrol Cape York Adventure
On this trip I have opted for a roof top tent which will be mounted over the rear tray and canopy
Tent is purchased just have to mount it
within the canopy I have a draw system and fridge, second spare tyre water and a couple of jerrys, which is basically the system I used for the simpson desert
Will be running 31 coopers stt on a two inch lift
fernando
