I need some help from every Patrol owner in the USA

Really old stuff that got saved. Here are the old Nissan Patrol Club America messages from the 'General' category. Warning, it's dusty in here!

I need some help from every Patrol owner in the USA

Post by npca-grant »

Hey All..   You know.. sometimes I just dont think. I work about 5 miles from a very big NISSAN building. Mater of fact, I *belive* it is the NISSAN of North American building... or the So. Calf design center. Not sure which, but I plan to find out. If it is, I sugest we send off that petition to NISSAN of JAPAN and make a copy of it and Ill drive my PATROL down to the front steps of NISSAN of North American building and hand deliver it to them too! What do you think? A two front war?   Grant P.S. Ill ask about Mr K too, they are supose to have a musium in the area, but the last time I went to that building the girl at the front desk didnt know where it was. They are supose to have the BLUE patrol in that poster there.

; Just out of curiosity...; There are other Patrol Clubs worldwide... Has anyone consulted with our friends in one of those nice English-speaking Pacific Rim countries (like Australia or NZ) to see what the 60 series parts situation is out there? There shouldn't be many import restrictions on parts like that, and the exchange rate is favourable (sic)?; Rick; '94 Pathfinder (hey, it came from somewhere!); ; >From: "Fud" ; >Reply-To: "Nissan Patrol Club Albuquerque" ; >To: "Nissan Patrol Club Albuquerque" ; >Subject: Re: I need some help from every Patrol owner in the USA ; >Date: Wed, 30 Oct 2002 15:30:54 -0800 ; > ; Choose an Internet access plan right for you -- try MSN! Well....I wouldn't have started this thread if those things were possible, it is not going to be easy to petition Nissan of Japan. I think it is recent that Nissan has banned us buying parts from Austraila, I tried recently to buy things from dealers down there and as soon as they found out I live in USA they not only said NO but stop awnsering my email...possibly they could loose their job?   As far as other Patrol clubs, go to them and look around....On one Austrailan Patrol site it says plain and simple, We do not own any 60 series Patrols and do not know where to get parts for them.   We are in a very bad situation here in USA for 60 series Patrol parts....without the help of ALL Patrol owners were are doomed.   Hector who lives in Columbia has varified my belief, anything is available for the 60 series outside this country.   Ian

When finalizing my order today with NissanAutoParts.com I was explained/told in detail why there are no more points in the USA....a man in Africa bought 3500 sets of points recently (all of the USA stock). This man also bought up large quanities of other Patrol parts here in the USA. Twist to the situation is that he did it illegally, he used money from peoples payroll and such. Now this man has been caught but all the Patrol parts he bought are in Africa somewhere confinscated by the authorities, NissanAutoParts.com said they would buy them back for what they bought them from Nissan for....that is unlikely. Now what I find intresting there and I got mad and raised my voice on the phone with him...why in the hell is it OK for people outside this country to buy our NOS Patrol parts but we can not buy NOS or new Patrol parts from another country!!?? When working on my 67 in the early 90's I knew all about how hard it is to get parts but this is a bit rediculous.   Now I am hearing a lot of things from a lot of diffrent directions and wondering what to make of it all?? Has anyone bought any Nissan 60 series Patrol parts outside the USA in the last 6 months?? If so where?? I found rear wheel cylinders in Austraila and will see if I get them, I think the seller is not asociated with Nissan. They are expensive and have not got back to me on whether I can buy them or not....NissanAutoParts.com told me they get calls/e-mails/letters from all of us USA Patrol owners all the time for parts, so we should stop trying to do this as individuals and do it as a group....a petition needs to happen.   Ian

Well...first thing that should be done is get a rough draft for the petition....I am inexperienced with this so if anyone has examples that would be great....never been a hippie protestor so don't know how to start a petition or what a good one looks like....j/k about the hippie part!

Fud,Count me in. If Nissan is truly a global company, they should be able to figure out how to get these parts from somewhere in the world to us. Let me know what to do next.Rick G

hey Rick, Paul and everyone....   I also have got parts from motorcare and Nissan dealers....Chris David at Santa Cruz Nissan kicks butt....he got me several items asap...I don't have a Nissan dealer in my town so I found one who is willing to help, Chris is really great, parts at my door in less than a week....yet, the fact remains that Nissan is denying us/me parts that they have but won't sell us/me. Personally I think it is BS and it makes me mad. I am willing to pay for the parts just like a lot of you but they deny us and it is not ok in my book....   So I am working on this petition, if I get something together I will post it and you all can sign or comment on it....   Bottem line is we deserve to be able to buy parts just like everyone else in all other countries around the world, if that takes a petition to make happen then so be it...if it takes me going to Japan then possibly that is what I will do but I won't take "NO" as an awnser. Nissan sold the Patrol here and they used an American hero to support their product so they better support their product even if it is 30+ years later...   We deserve this same as everyone else who owns a Patrol on the planet in my opinion and if we sit back and do nothing then we will get nothing but if we make ourselves heard then they will supply us with everything we need to keep our Patrols alive for many years to come.   There are many many Patrols left in the USA unrestored....it is very unfair that these Patrols might be used for parts simply because Nissan denies us parts. I will do all I can and hopefully together as a group we can get some results....   Ian
