Watch out for dishonest

Really old stuff that got saved. Here are the old Nissan Patrol Club America messages from the 'General' category. Warning, it's dusty in here!

Watch out for dishonest

Post by npca-jeepy »

It is really a shame that this discussion has come down to this.  Unfortunately someone sold items on Ebay which he did not have in his possession yet.  That is a big No-No.  Then it seems as though he was trying to possibly buy himself some time and not respond to emails.  Now what we have is members of this club who can't trust one another at all.  It seems as though it has come down to threatening email and simple un-professional attitudes about the situation.  I have personally sold items from this site to Sean71 and the transaction went very smooth.  I have also bought and sold plenty of items on Ebay.  To sell something on ebay that you don't have in your own hands will only bring about problems sooner or later.  If I can make a suggestion, allow a little more than 24 hours for the money to be returned.  You've waited a month already.  What's a few days?  If nothing happens then take action.  I think there are a couple people on here who have been a little hasty with this.  In the meantime lets relax a bit and see what unfolds.  I have to believe that people will be true to their word.  If they aren't, then nail them to the wall! jeepcj_6@yahoo.com

Watch out for dishonest

First of all I would like to apologize to the club itself. I am sorry that I used this as a medium to resolve what I still consider to be a deal gone bad.   I have been a little impatient as far as in setting a time frame for a refund. I have many reasons for this, one of which is that this refund has been promised in the past but has never materialized to the others who were owed it. Only after researching  the sellers previous transactions did I become aware that I might possibly never receive the goods for which I paid or a refund. The seller demands payment for his auctions within seven days, no matter what. I made my payment the next day via credit card, and thought that at the very least he could do the same because he doesn't have the kit and the auction ended 3.22.2002.  The fact that not one of my emails were responded to made me nervous. For the record the "flame" was started BEFORE the refund was offered, not after, only after at least three emails and a phone call to the seller went unanswered. It was only after I posted on this and other sites that I received an email from the seller. In retrospect it seems that this is what prompted a response , and not the inquiries as to what the tracking number was for the shipment. Please keep in mind that this story is shared by two others that I have been in contact with and we are not unique; and those are just for the alternator kits. I understand that things come up but this is a different story. It had become apparent that the possibility of the kit not even existing was growing greater.  I also find it hard to believe that someone who "lives in front of their computer" can't answer a business related email. So it really wasn't that suprising that I was told to F off and that I was an A Hole. If that is what a person is who expects and is expected to (and did) complete their end of a transaction than I guess that is what I am. I offer no apologies for that, only one to the club and it's members for taking up your time with this situation, but I felt  because it was directly related to Patrols you should know.   Please email me is you have any questions or comments.   Sean

Watch out for dishonest

Well   Not sure about the checkin or the egg with regards to what lead up to the F Off and A hole thing... And I really dont care to go into it.   Basically it sounds like Vladimiers love for PATROLS got the best of him! It sounds like he is not *all that* on ebay (ie dont sell something you dont have in hand) but at least it does not appear to be the worst case senario either (ie didnt plan on ever getting it in hand to sell). But I can understand how Vladimiers inablilty to respond it made would make it *feel* like that (ie I have been there).   So, I hope for the sake of the love of PATROLS we can all get past this... and at least learn from it (ie dont sell what you dont have in hand) because there just aint that many nuts like us out there! The last thing we need is bad blood!   Now... I just hope that Vladimier does not get too upset when I finish scanning in my parts and service manual and make it aval for free, like I did for the P engine manual!   Grant

Watch out for "Cyber_garagesale" on Ebay. I believe it is "Vladimier" selling those NOS Oil Filters again...   David

Vlad is from Pennsylvania. The "Nissan Patrol Oil Filter, NOS" picture is identical to the one(s) he sold before.   Just beware since he may have resubscribed to EBay under a different name (cyber_garagesale) due to all the bad feedback he was getting.   David

I think it's him too.I don't understand why Ebay won't do anything about it. Could it be the amount of fees he pays for all of his auctions!?   Sean
