Regarding the HP

Over the years, Nissan changed the rated HP without doing any changes to the engine itself. Sometimes going up, or going down. This goes even further into the P40 engine, basically a small redesign of the P engine, with it's core components remaining the same: displacement, compression ratio, camshaft. My guess is that "lawyers" got involved

The following data is taken from various brochures, leaflets, including some from Australia. There's no consistency. I will stick with my 65 ID Plate, of 145 HP

1963 ID Plate
HP: 135 @ 3400 rpm

1965, 1968 (also a 1969 Owners Manual)
HP: 145 @ 3800 rpm
Max. Torque: 235 ft-lb @ 2000 [32.5 m-kg]

1975
HP: 130 @ 3600 rpm
Max. Torque: 217 ft-lb @ 1600 [30 m-kg]

1977 Leaflet
HP: 145 @ 3800 rpm
Max. Torque: 235 ft-lb @ 2000 [32.5 m-kg]

1980 P40 engine
HP: 135 @ 3600 rpm
Max. Torque: 217 ft-lb @ 2000 [30 m-kg]

Is there any company that makes a 2”-3” lift for the Patrol?? Or do I have to do an under 2 over axle swap?

There is a whole lot of info at your fingertips within this forum. The end of the story is that any lift over 2" requires so many changes it destroys the vehicle. I have four, two with a 2" lift, two with no lift. My advice is to not lift your mosheen at all. Any lift really fouls up the suspension in my humble opinion and I find no off road difference...and I drive mine off road in CO. Lastly, as Iam sure you know, the larger tires really rob HP and torque.

The really good news is that I think you motor and gears are somehow better (lower) for off roading than 65s and newer....at least that is my experience when comparing my 63 Vs 65 and older....though the later models do go faster on the highway.

Patrolling again at 12,000' next week.

My pictures don’t want to load.... idk... but my patrol has a take to it that won’t barely clear 31x10.50 tires.... I want to run 265/75R17 which is a 31.5x11x17.... my front end looks like it’s sagging pretty bad compared to other pics I have seen.... not sure why.... but I really don’t want to lift unless I have to.... but I really want to run a 10 ply tire and there are a ton of options in the 265 size

A 235-85-16 is 31.5" and will fit a Patrol without mods. It is narrower, but some people prefer that for some reason, like mud and snow.

You can accomplish that with just a 2" lift. That's the max you want to go otherwise the shackles will invert.

As for uploading pics, depending on what procedure you're using they probably need to be resized smaller - 1020 x 1280 and less than 2MB.

I have a 1" body lift (bushing kit for 50's- 60's Jeep Landover wagon) and I run stock suspension with 32"×11.50 tires no problem.
Also, all old inline sixes have the same firing order 1-5-3-6-2-4

Looking at buying a new set of wheels for my 1964 Patrol. It came to me with 15” wheels that were rusty.... really rusty.... but it had been sitting for 29 years so that makes sense... anyhow.... what width and back spacing should I be looking for??

I recently changed my wheels and tires, after doing some body work that including correcting the rear wheel fender lip on both sides (mine was folded back completely). After following the excellent guide by member moore_rb referenced above, I ended buying the following:

https://www.jegs.com/i/Cragar/260/3105760P/10002/-1
Cragar Nomad I Wheel Part Number: 260-3105760P
Size: 15'' x 7''
Bolt Pattern: 6 x 5-1/2''
Rear Spacing: 4-1/2''
Offset: +13mm

In these type of wheels, according to my measurements, this was the only one that was going to work without altering the fenders. I'm running LT 235/75R15 tires.
