Has anyone tried these yet? Spark plug

I was checking the link that Plateaucal posted, and the heat range on those spark plugs in 12.

I recalled that back in the days I would use regular Champion N9Y spark plugs or NGK BP6ES. I don't have the water protect distributor. The N9Y Champions heat range is 9.

The parts manual mention a number of choices
B5ES - This will be equivalent to a N12 or N14 (hotter) in Champion.

So I guess those spark plugs are correct.

And to amaze me even more, supposedly Rockauto has them at $14.92 ea. I just checked with a 1967 Patrol!!

While rockauto.com does list these 616 Champions, when you try to add them to your cart they tell you they are out of stock.

Well, it appears the eBay I-Brake reseller of the RockAuto inventory is also "out of stock".

No spark here.

Zed, can you post a photo of the spark plug end of the spark plug wire? As detailed as possible. We are going to try to make the Champions work. Thank you.

If the Pinzgauer plugs work...then plug wires that connect to them are available but I have know idea how the plug wire would or could connect to our distributor?

Awesome. They look a little different than the ones for other vehicles. The large "boot" above the nut is different than that for a Pinz., Unimog or such. But we will figger it out. Thank you.

Sorry to dredge up this old thread..............but has anyone actually used the Champion 616 plugs on their Patrol? What I'm interested in knowing is did the original spark plug wires connect up to the Champion 616 plug correctly? Thanks for any input on this.

(I did look at all the threads related to waterproof spark plugs but could not find the answer to this question.)

Yes. They work perfect. They are the Champion interchange for the original NGK. Also Autolite/Motorcraft AGR3S, Bosch WC175ERT, WC7D , WC8D.
