Texas allows personalization of "Classic Auto" tags, the fee is about $125-$150 per year, and the vehicle must get an annual safety inspection.
The Texas "Antique Vehicle" tag is about $10 per year, no annual inspection required.

Re: 66 patrol hard top
It makes more sense to have borh. In VA there's only the Antique. It cost $1 ( yes, one!!) per year. No inspection at all, not even at initial registration.

Nice. I hope you've been getting some good use out of the Patrol.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Re: 66 patrol hard top
I do drive it a bit and it is a great conversation piece wherever I stop. Lots of fun and pride hearing all the guesses and questions on what it is and where did it come from. I haven't had it out since i put the cargo rack on it. I would appreciate some feedback here as to is it a plus or minus for the patrol. It came with the Patrol when I bought it but not mounted.
Wasn't sure of the look. What do yall think???????????

Re: 66 patrol hard top
imho, keep the cargo rack on it !
Unless you're going for a "stock" look ( and from the wheels and follow-me towbar up front it doesn't seem you're headed that way ), make it capable !
cheers,
D
