I was looking at an old Scout today in an old mans field that has the twin stick transfer and has front and rear output shafts on the pass. side. The rear axle was missing but I can't imagine it being center shaft??? Any ideas on the year of this and if it is a 4 spd? You also should machine a new mainshaft nut with an integral bearing diameter on the back of it to fit into a new PTO cover plate machined from an aluminium or steel billet. I will ask my friend on Friday about the recast transfercase. I remember years ago that I calculated I could have got about 2.8:1 with the existing Nissan cast iron T/case by remaking the straight cut low range gears. Anyway just brain storming on a poor mans budget. Marks 5 spd would be the best if you could swing the cash. Keith
