Re: 69 rat house
Big rain today, so moved every thing into the shop.

This is the carb on the truck now, and I have one of the other metal base ones too in that wheelbarrow^ but the plastic tub that it was in got water in it. The top is still free but the bottom is pretty rusty. We'll see if it is salvageable.

Pulled the seats and soaped them up and left them in the rain, 90% of the rat mung came off after 4 hours and a little scrubbing. So we are supposed to get 10 days, might get them clean by then.

So I don't know if the odometer has rolled over or not, But here are the numbers.

Have a pic of the dmv process paper work, but the hand signs are (R) rated

funny on the hand signs. you have a good solid base to start with, and I bet you figure it all out.

Re: 69 rat house
Nice little stash of parts there. The hand crank even has the original retainer rubbers on them. A couple of nice shiny emblems, and a couple of mystery NOS parts.
The seats should be right by the time the rain stops. You might throw some Lysol on them, too.
Could be the original mileage, or it might have turned over. I would lean more toward the turned over option. The fact that your engine isn't the original is a good indicator of that.
The carb looks like it's a VHA; it must have come over with the Marks. They weren't used on any US Patrols.
Hmmm…you've got an Aussie transmission, potentially an Aussie carb - I'd take a look underneath the rear and see if maybe it's also sporting the monster H260 diff.
That would be another cool surprise.
You've certainly got an intriguing project there. I look forward to following your progress.

I know it came from California, Think it still has the original plates.

From there I don't know. Pretty sure it has been on its side (right), the hood has blown open, and maybe a carb fire or 2. The brakes seem to work. Just the body is rough.

See, that's because of that Marks 5 speed with the overdrive. This means you should get rid of that Marks. I will happily send you a stock 3 speed and take that widow maker 5 speed off your hands.nizmut wrote:... the hood has blown open,...
