It is a tragedy that could have been avoided. The medics tried for too long to get a life flight to the ski area but due to fog, they were unable to fly ... then they called for the ambulance.. over 2 hrs to get him to a local hospital that isn't set up for surgeries or trauma... up and back to this hospital is normally about 45 min from the ski resort... had they called for the ambulance immediately, it would have given them another hr to get to another hospital that is set up for that kind of emergencies (that one is only 25 miles further away). Ruptured spleen...
