Now I am doubting that the windshield gasket that I based my measurements upon was an original (vs undersized) glass.
Scotts Old Rubber scottsoldautorubber.com.au offers the Spectrrum Rubber weatherstrip 218-045 for their windshield gasket. This appears to be a similar design as Esteban.

BTW, on 11/22/12 Specrtrum Rubber http://www.spectrumrubber.com.au/ me $105.26 plus shipping for their preassembed windshield Item Number 218.635.

Interesting, that the one you received was not joined in a complete seal, requiring the use of a bonding agent to join the two ends.
Other than the lack of a small grove on the outside face, the profile appears to match Esteban's illustration.

That is because it is the wrong picture......and you are right it is one loop. Goofed.

i sure hope someone figures this out because i need a new gasket myself. i have a wad of goo right in the top middle of the gasket that drips rainwater into the patrol every time it rains. i wonder if mine might have shrunk from age, and the sun beating down on it?

i asked the company in Australia if they might offer a discount if every set of gaskets offered was ordered at the same time and was told no. if we did a group buy do you all think that would get their attention???????

My gasket was already purchased by my friend, so that's a done deal for me at the moment.

I have the same concerns about the joint and how to make it properly. Should it go at the top, or bottom? In the area that I live, being so close to D.C., there are less and less knowledgeable guys that can deal with this windshield installation. Well, I guess that's one of the beauties of the Patrol. You have to learn every single trade to handle them Next in my list: how to saw a canvas top...

All the joints I have seen have been at the center on the bottom run.

When I did the write up on the side window rubber installation I used a diagonal splice and super glue which was recommended by a glass guy. The end to end seam was cut on the diagonal in order to have more surface contact. This worked out well and has stayed glued. As for the seam at the top or bottom.......I would say both have their plusses and minuses to bothe ways but maybe Rons glass buddy can give his pro reasons (Hey Ron, I'm volunteering your friends here!).
The photo that I goofed is of the rear window seal. It looked bigger with my hand back a ways and the end in the camera (perspective) but I matched it up sizewise with the reardoors.
I'm not sure what Scotts Old Auto Rubber charges for the gasket + ship.? I have the PO's receipts from Scotts from 8/05 ( a complete ring/gasket) windscreen seal #218.635 at $91.70 oz bucks. BTW, on the catalog it lists "super glue 3ml ( Instant adhesive for butt joining applications)"
I have seen the splice on the bottom too and my 65 is gapped there, interesting.
I would still be interested in Estebans offer. However, I did measure my 65 and 67 rubber and although shrunk a bit the outside face measures 3 cm and I think Estebans photo shows 4+. This would leave you close to the wipers and lapping the bottom/cowl vents.
Maybe I'm off on something but what do you all think?

It is worth asking. With the required quantity of most group buys, it may be difficult to get enough orders to work out.

Suppliers are usually good with an order of at least 10. That's what gets set up for the sliding window weather strip. I would think we could come up with 10 commitments in a short time.
