Michael, here is the original mirror post and the fiting on the end for the mirror head. I can fabricate an exact fitting for you this one i will keep. You cant have TOM though, he just wouldnt get out of the picture.

Since Michael needs it for his '66, the mirror needs to mount on the other side of the firewall. I don't think the mount is ambidextrous.

What is the difference? I dont see it. The mounting holes on the mirror post are cemetrical and the post is centered "inline" with the holes. i cant see where the difference is. WOW im impressed Michael! Very good. I also found that the mirror head is 117mm in diameter=4.5"
