I come from a different part of the country, I would jump all over a rust free rig.... Engine or not..... PM River, she would know best what prices are over there on the left.. Try to send him another email. I know I ignore a lot of emails if they sound weird..or it may be sold already it's really a nice looking patrol.

Ok, so the guy has not responded back via email or phone call. I'll try again later.
In the meantime, what do you guys think about this one.

I called him and he says that he bought it from an auction house. Says it has a little surface rust, no title. Needs a distributor and a master cylinder. Anyone live out near this guy. 1150.00 is his price.
Thanks
Fidel

Again, I wont comment on the condition/value, that's for the pros here to do. But, I do remember that it was up on ebay for a couple relisting cycles... but that had more to do with the auction house guys listing it for 2500 and then 3000 than its condition, imo. I want to say that was 8-9 months ago, they were down somewhere near sierra vista. I would be curious to know why the new owner is looking to unload it so quickly, and what he paid for it...
also remember the auction guy was a HUGE JERK, lol, but that bit of info probably doesn't help much.

P.s. i also seem to remember that the auction guy did say it wasnt running, but no specifics were listed for the work needed on it...

Since you did say that you are not very mechanically inclined, I would suggest staying away from this one. It's very ruff

I can guarantee it needs much more than just a distributor and a master cylinder. In my opinion, this is a parts donor, and not a very good one at that.

You west coasters are so spoiled..... There's a lot of work there for someone just starting to wrench. although the body doesn't seem to have any rot. I would agree with RP (I always do) that you should stay away from this one.. but I disagree that's it's a parts rig.. way better shape than my plow patrol..

Yeah, yeah.

I do happen to know what you easterners have to deal with:
I was going to attempt a frame-off resto, but there wasn't enough frame to work with.
Who has the template for the cross member?

Thank you all for the advice. You guys are on top of this stuff! I did a little research and found out the patrol in Yucaipa is being sold by a guy that sells cars and car parts on Ebay and other forums. It may be gone by now. Anyways, I'll keep looking for one. If you guys see a good one let me know. I'll check on here on regular basis. I appreciate all the help. Last thing, I can't figure out how to change my password. can someone point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Fidel

There is usually a worthy Patrol available, it just depends on how far you want to go. Keep checking our Classifieds section under Vehicles; Patrols for sale are listed there frequently. There are several there now.
To change your password, go to you User Control Panel (link is in upper left area). Go to Profile, then Change Account settings. There is an area there to change your password.
