Patrol Seats?

did we ever confirm where these seats came from? Most rover seats I've seen are plain and boxy.. I'm in need of some seats. The Plow patrol seats are not original. I originally thought they were from a VW but I'm confident now they are not. The seats have legs that were cut off.. Maybe scout? They were meant for a flat permanent mount, so they could be from anything even back bench seats??

Anyway, I like the looks of your seats bosque. The seats in the PP are way to wide. I really don;t want to go with a modern looking seat, I've been eying up 60-70 Japanese sports cars and even MG's and sunbeams.. I know most of us have stockers but please post up if you have any other options that look right or just work..

You are not highjacking.....this is a good thing to suss out. I would think VW seats would be good......there are so many 60's 70's junked cars out there....I'd visit a big yard and take some measurements. 240z, corvair, 510, honda cvcc, all would have seats that will work.

Great. I have a bus VW sear here and it's still a bit thick, at the back. I'll do more fitting when I have a floor again.

Patrol seats can be extended 1 1/2" with a little strap metal and no permanent change to Patrol. I saw this possibility when contemplating taking this seat out to weld some cracks. I only moved it back an inch but 1 1/2" would have worked with about 3/4" left to the tub back. That is a lot for a taller or leggier person!!! Not perfect of course because you loose the alignment of the seat catch.
Definitely worth making some "Seat Shackles"!

I padded with washers between sections to keep "seat shackles" aligned/parallel. 2 1/4" long 1/4" bolts would be better but....
