need parts for plow patrol
I'm almost ready to start asking for parts.. I need a bunch but like most I'm working on a very limited budget... I have a list an arms length long but I'm keeping it to the necessities..
I found a guy that is maybe in Ca I was able to grab a few small pieces , mostly extras. There's a lot of big parts from a 68 there. Doors, windshield, I'll pass along the info once I have some more info..I still need the stuff in bold.
Front Emblem
Head light rings, (I would also offer my old rusty ones in exchange and $$) *****
Speedometer cable
Rear view mirror ****
a upper hinge clasp for windshield ****
ashtray
rear license plate holder
Drivers side door hinge .. body side.
Windshield hood hold downs...
two pair of lower ambulance door hinges.. Tub side.
Pair of clear or yellow turn signals. US or AU With rings I can make either work.****
Set of jeep/fj40 style hing mirrors
Rubber shifter covers, for all the levers??
lower flywheel cover,
one side vent? ******
Is there an old style fuel pump rebuilt kit out there? I have the hand pump style. more in tech about this.
If you live in the north east I'm looking for big parts. Front floors, hardtop, soft top(ya right)
I'm a hesitant to ask for more cause I really need to watch my spending.. I'm not supposed to start on this project but I can't help it..
thanks
bob

Maybe find a retailer nearby, mirrors work great for me after 3+ years:

If you have the trim retainer parts for the vinyl boots I have a super ugly set that were a screw up, but seal. You can have them, pay post.

Hey Bob, are you talking about the "hook" section of the clasp that holds the windshield up? If so I have plenty. I also have orange and clear indicator lenses and trim rings if you can't get any stateside just let me know.

Re: need parts for plow patrol
FYI - the Aussie front turn signals are only a one-wire light; you need a two-wire light for your Patrol.
Which side side vent do you need? Is it the door on the fender that you need?

Yes the vent door on the fender , passenger side. Yes, I'm aware that the Aussie light is a single filament. Auto part stores sell replacement sockets ... that's what I did on green machine.. shhhh..RiverPatrol wrote:FYI - the Aussie front turn signals are only a one-wire light; you need a two-wire light for your Patrol.

See? You're a veritable wealth of information!norville wrote: Auto part stores sell replacement sockets ... that's what I did on green machine.. shhhh..
I might be able to come up with:
upper hinge clasp
rear door hinges, tub side
AU style front turn signals
flywheel cover (?)
right fender vent door
Give me a few days to look. I've got a busy week coming up.

Re: need parts for plow patrol
Thank you RP, I'm patient (and desperate) so we'll work on your schedule.. I need 4 tub side hinges if you have them to spare.. If not, two will work for now to hold the doors on.. Flywheel cover.. I'm not sure if that's the correct name. Looking under the truck at the engine, I can clearly see my clutch plate, and flywheel teeth...

Re: need parts for plow patrol
I might even have rear door hinges that match the tub...
I knew what flywheel cover you meant. I remember taking one off an engine/tranny a while back, I just need to remember what I did with it.
