Soft Top Frame

Thanks for the photos Steve. I am getting closer and closer to making a re-pop set of the soft top frame. Once I get one done I will try and make up a a few more.

thanks for the pictures, if it is possible can you get pictures of this part next to the door that comes whith this little piece of hard top? i need to fabricate one and can´t find any pictures detailed of it. Thanks Again!

That then makes a debate...
...with all the ups and downs of both hard tops and soft tops which actually is more useable/excels?
I mean, a hard top IS heavy, and it can rust....but it is safer, comes of in 1/2 hour (?), install ditto, sliding widows, quieter, better insulated....
what else? Chime away....

I want both options. Is this possible without much alteration? I will post pics of my patrol pretty soon, haven't done any work on the resto yet... I think I have a bit of a frankenstein patrol, will definitely need the insight of senior members to figure out what im working with... but I digress.

So, is it possible? If it helps, my patrol was originally a softy, but has a hard on it now that doesn't seem to fit too well...

Yes it is possible to have both. I've never done it i.e. put a hard top on a soft top or vise versa. But there have been people that have done it. I would be interested in seeing where/how your hard top fits poorly. I can wait for the pics, but you don't want to keep bosque waiting...

Hey Steve, do you have the soft top parts handy or are they in storage? Are you able to tell me the total length of the upper side rails and how much of the ends are pinched??

hey miller, sorry about the delayed response...

I would love to tell you the measurements and all but unfortunately I dont have the frame parts youre describing... the only components i have are the corner tubes. Sooner or later I'm going to get up to the guy in Northern AZ and pay him to make me a duplicate set of the pieces he has... but even then I still wont have the whole frame assembly, damnit. lol.
