before tearing it apart....go for a ride...see when it smokes...on take off....coasting...decel downhill?......what color is smoke?......check oil..see if its clean?..see if water in oil or oil in water?...check spark plugs..see which one is oil fouled....maybe just a stuck valve or carbon buildup on it?....way to many things to look at before you tear it apart....and by chance,if its apart then...take to a machine shop...let em check it out...parts resources are on site here. my patrol smoked a bit when i first got it....i just changed filter...changed oil...and i went with mobile-1 synthetic(15-50)...after a few weeks of running and driving..no more smoke...but oil was VERY dirty..changed it out...new filter and oil...(synth again)..and all is great!...tell us what you find...
) paul ps...my motor has never been rebuilt..or touched...and has 90psi oil pressure on hiway...45-50psi idle at temp around town..no leaks.valve adjustment coming up soon

I will have to play with it when I get it. I used to own a 260z with the 2.6 L I-6, and it would smoke pretty bad until I changed the oil with Mobil-1, wire-brushed the plugs (all of them were pretty bad) and ran 93 octane plus an Octane booster for 3 tanks. AFter the 3 tanks, the 4 5 6 plugs were covered with carbon, not oil, but I didn't have that problem again afterwards.
