I need a clutch plate and pressure plate and throw out bearing for my 65. Has anyone tried to match one to any other vehicle for compatibility? Here there are no REAL auto parts where they have in stock parts to check. If you have any info please email me at mjackson41060@hotmail.com . Thank you, Mark

You can still get the original parts from Nissan. If there isn't a dealer near you order them from www.nissanparts.cc - they give a good discount so it makes up for the shipping. Here are part numbers: clutch disk - 30100-90708 - $75.23 pressure plate - 30210-44003 - $154.86 throw out brg - 30502-55100 - $24.89 Otherwise, I have never heard of a compatible clutch for the Patrol.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to set up my steering on my 1968 nissan patrol. It has 1/2 ton chevy running gear underneath of it and enough lift for 44'' tires. Just need a little info on a good steering system; ; ; ; From: "npca-riverpatrol" Reply-To: "Nissan Patrol Club Albuquerque" To: "Nissan Patrol Club Albuquerque" Subject: Re: ClutchDate: Mon, 30 Jan 2006 07:29:44 -0800; ; ; ThmFgColumnHeader, A.FrameLink, A.HeaderLink, A.FooterLink, A.LgtCmd, A.MSNLink; {color:#FFFFFF;}; ThmFgTitleLightBk; {color:#FF6600;}; ThmFgSmallLight; {color:#ff0000;}; ThmFgNavLink, A.NavLink, A.ChildLink:hover; {color:#666699;}; ThmFgInactiveText, A.SystemLink; {color:#666666;}; ThmFgFrameTitle; {color:#FFFFCC;}; ThmFgMiscText, A.Cat, A.SubCat; {color:#336699;}; ThmFgCommand, A.Command, A.LargeCommand, A.MsgLink; {color:#003366;}; ThmFgHeader; {color:#333333;}; ThmFgDivider; {color:#CCCCCC;}; ThmBgStandard; {background-color:#FFFFFF;}; ThmBgUnknown1; {background-color:#FF6600;}; ThmBgFraming; {background-color:#666699;}; ThmBgUnknown2; {background-color:#666666;}; ThmBgHighlightDark; {background-color:#FFFFCC;}; ThmBgHighlightLight, #idToolbar, #tbContents; {background-color:#FFFFE8;}; ThmBgTitleDarkBk; {background-color:#F1F1F1;}; ThmBgAlternate; {background-color:#ECF1F6;}; ThmBgUnknown3; {background-color:#CCCCFF;}; ThmBgDivider; {background-color:#CCCCCC;}; ThmBgHeader; {background-color:#9999CC;}; ThmBgLinks; {background-color:#8696C9;}; ThmBgSharkBar; {background-color:#8696C9;}; ThmBgGlobalNick; {background-color:#9394A9;}; calfgndcolor; {color:#E00505;}; calbgndcolor; {color:#E00505;}; ; ; ; ; ; ; New Message on Nissan Patrol Club Albuquerque; ; ; Clutch; ; ; ; Reply; ; ; ; ; ; Reply to Sender Recommend ; Message 2 in Discussion ; ; ; ; ; ; From: npca-riverpatrol ; ; ; You can still get the original parts from Nissan. Well, heres some facts to get your mind to movin...1. The Nissan Patrol pitman arm has the same spline count as that of a GM steering box.2. Datsun Z-cars have similar steering boxes that mount on the inside of the frame rather than the outside.3. IHC Scout II, 70's model Ford trucks, and 80's model Toyota trucks have similar designed steering boxes with power steering...My Patrol has a steering box off of a 1980 Scout II on it now...Also, do you have some pics of this Patrol? Cause Im fixing to start running half-ton Chevy running gear myself... The axles are in progress of being built now... I would really like to see how you mounted your front-end...

Okay, let me try to say this without seeming like too much of a purist - which I truly am. Let me give a take on this as a frequent off-roader. An off-roader that does Black Diamond trials in the mountains of SoCal. I don't go for mud puddles, I go for the climb. I go out about every weekend with groups of built Jeeps, Rubicons, Hummers, etc. In my '69 Patrol that has a mere 2" lift kit. I am embeded with a group of OHV'ers that mainly have Jeeps. Okay, so there's a little background. It takes major engineering to come up with a correct answer to your question. That is, if you want to keep from busting axles or drive shafts. Even if you had the stock driveline and suspension, you would want to do your mods in a specifically designed way to maintain the integrity of the vehicle. What is it that you want? Some beast on 44's that will climb a rock once and then need a new axle? Or do you want a truck that will climb anything within reason and still live to make the next trip? I prefer the latter, and that's what I have. I go out on trials with these Jeeps that have 4" lifts, locked front and rear, sway bar disconnects, etc. At least once a month one of these guys is breaking big time. Month before last it was an axle on a round headlight Jeep, last month it was the driveshaft and transfer on a YJ. Okay, you can say "that's because they're Jeeps". Yes and no. It's because they've been modified beyond the engineered preferences. One guy had an Isuzu that he dropped major $$$ into at a custom fab shop. First time he had it out on a black diamond trail his shackles inverted. Bad engineering - it wasn't meant to do that. Ultimately, you're going to run in to the same problem. The Patrol has not been modified enough different ways for someone to give you an answer as to the best way to set up this bastardized truck. Please don't take offense, I'm just trying to say in a long way that there is no good answer to your question. You will have to perform the trial and error, as 4x4Jon4x4 has. Will you come up with a workable solution the first, second or even third time? Most likely not. I have seen many a Patrol that someone thought they could improve by putting stuff on/in it that was easier to get parts for. These trucks are just sitting waiting for repairs, or waiting to be sold, not on the trial every other weekend like mine. Guy in the group had a Patrol like that. Had Chevy this and Toyota that and Dana whatever. He finally got fed up with having to work on major mods every time he wanted to hit the trail, he finally got a Jeep Rubicon.
