Taillights

Does anyone know where I can get original or darn close taillight assemblies for my '69? How about the original part number? My taillights are cheap trailer light assemblies and some rough 4wheeling last weekend killed one of them, mud slinging powering up a very steep, narrow trail. Any help would be great.

The tail lights from the IH Scout 80's and 800's are SIMILAR and could be made to fit. Your problem is probably plastic backs on them rather than the metal. Hence the breaking them while mudding. The originals have metal back sides as well as the early Scouts. The Scout II is completely different. A little bit of work would be needed to cut your light brackets a bit bigger to fit them in. Either that or make new ones like I did! Hope something works for you! -Jeff

I got these great lamps form the dealer, not original Patrol, maybe from an old pickup, but damn they look good. They are slighly conical and have a nice chrome ring and look like they should be original. I did have to drill a big hole in the body to mount them, but it was worth it. I will get a photo of what one looks like and come back and post it. Part # is 26520-C4200 LAMP COMB list price 33.47 but I was only charged 26.50 Dealer or nissanautoparts.com

I think Datsun roadster 1600,2000 use the same taillights,but i'm not positive.
