Help!!... interlock button

Hello!..... In the Nissan King Cab XE 4x4, there is a button named interlock, when is pressed it actives the gas indicator and the manual break indicator. Is that normal?? I just bought it... I don´t know what to do...

Laura, I have a 89 reg cab that has the switch. It is for starting your truck in gear(Manual transmisson) without having to push in the clutch. (ie:. when four wheeling and you kill the engine on the edge of a bluff. If you were to push in the clutch you stand the risk of rolling.) Since we don't have three legs for all the pedals the switch comes in handy. My switch gets half way stuck do to dusty roads. When stuck it causes the brake lite to come on. A little jiggling and the lite goes off. Keith
