Help identify this Patrol

Post by Stetaylor2061 »

Just recently picked up this Patrol. Says it is a 1969, but it is not an American 1969. It is strange. Two windshield vents, windshield washers, waterproof distributor cap, South American style blinkers. Dash is the same as my 67. Rear jump seats unbolt as an assembly. Original alternator. I can get more pictures.

It also has the small reflectors on the fenders.

Nice find! It's likely a '68, many were sold as a '69.

Did 68 have the updates as a 69? It sure is different from my 67. The door handles have round buttons and a bump by them. Lots of differences.

Yes, the '68 had those updates and others. The alternator was a change that year. The '68 was like the transition from the previous style to the '69 and later style. Another change for '68 was same color interior even on the hard top models.

Post a picture of the VIN, I can look in the Registry and see what year/s it falls in.

Strange that the plate is mounted on the inside of the top.

Oh, very interesting placement, both on the location of the ID plate (someone obviously relocated it there) and where the VIN falls in the Registry. This is like the last Patrol of the '68/'69 transition era.

See if there is another ID plate on the driver's side 'B' pillar, just above the door latch.

Nothing on the pillar. This sticker is where the data plate should be.

Definitely a '68 leaning '69 then.
