Need shock size for my lifted Patrol!
Good afternoon Patrolers! Need shock help please.... My '68 came with extended shackles (7" from eye to eye) and I was wondering how much lift that created. I don't know the original shackle size (eye to eye) so I'm not sure how much longer of a shock I will need from the original shock. I don't trust the current shock size because of the half arse work that I have discovered from the previous owner. Any idea or suggestions would be much appreciated!!!

Let's try this another way. Can someone please send me the measurement (from the center of the bolts) of their original shackles? Mine are about 9" end to end and about 7" from center of bolt to center of bolt.

I just measured mine. Center to center is 2-1/2" (actually 65 mm) A big difference with yours at 7".
By looking at a diagram of the rear suspension, that additional length of the shackle will add approximately 2-1/4" at the axle.
I saved this information in my notes from the Compatible Parts List [http://parts.60patrol.com] that members over the years have submitted, and then prepared the following table:
