Wanted Tie rod adjusting sleeve

Post by Slowtech »

Hi, does anyone have a lead on a Tie Rod adjusting coupler?

The threads are 13/16 - 18

There is a Left-hand thread on one side and a Right-hand thread on the other side.

Thanks in advance.

New are available on eBay Australia

See https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/234775579172

They look like they should fit, however I have never purchased any.
Not sure if I will get there.
Not sure if I will get back.
But I usually do!!!

I have my doubts about the tie rods on that link. In the Patrol, one end is short like those, and the other is very long,

Update, I spoke to the folks on that EBay page and they were just listing cars to list cars and it doesn’t fit.

I found out that a select number of trucks and farming combines including the international scout 80, also used a 13/16-18 pitch adjusting nut. However any of the LH threads are UnObtainium.

I ended up getting a tap for the RH thread and then getting some help and Single pointing the LH thread as the only source for. 13/16-18 Left Hand threading tap would have to custom make the tap.

We ended up making the connector out of high carbon prestressed material.

This will get some never-cease when I reinstall.
