   The parts look in very good condition. No marks on the swivel bearing cups.

Thanks! They really do all around.

Awesome moment tonight. Out and about taking my daughter to a beach here near home. I was walking across the parking lot and had to do a double take as a Patrol pulled in.

We got to check it out and chat with the owner. I believe he is on here. Nice meeting you Matt!

Interestingly enough I also came across another locally tucked behind a fence at a mechanics lot.

It looked pretty clean and complete. Had AZ tags and a palm tree leaf looking camo paint job. Does anyone recognize this patrol?

Very cool sightings! I think I recall seeing the camp one for sale a while ago.

Today I started blasting the axles with the help of a friend.

I was able to finish blasting the axles today (ran out of glass media last time. Got a nice coat of paint on them tonight and I am smiling ear to ear looking at some fresh clean axles!

I have one axle mount that has some rot in the middle. I’ll need to go back and replace or patch this.

Getting some disc brake components painted up. This steel it paint is spendy but it’s very durable.

Now that temps are workable in the garage again I got some additional paint on the axles.

Truly a great approach on the frame treatment.

Was your frame "hot dipped" or "flame sprayed". It appears like a high quality hot dip to me from the pictures. Don't forget it can be painted with the right primer. Will your Patrol ever be driven off road?

The frame was hot dipped. The original thinking behind this was that I wanted superior rust prevention as well as I simply loved the look of the galvanized frames you see on many old rovers. I lean more towards painting the frame black now if I can find the right paint and process. I see in Europe the rover guys all use Mordant t wash as a primer of sorts. my understanding is this kills the reactions happening on the galv surface which will cause paint to flake off if not treated properly.

The galv finish is OK. It is more dull gray than that shiny variety you might see on a new boat trailer.

Another option is adding a beauty coat of galv paint on top from a company local to me. https://store.zrcworldwide.com

The patrol will see light forest roads across New England and likely even some beach driving here in Massachusetts. The offoading and beach driving has me wondering how far I will take the restoration. Mechanically I want it to be spotless and new. On the body I am torn between going for showroom or simply doing it budget minded and trying to patch what needs to be patched and blend in to the patina.
