1963 nissan patrol L60

Really old stuff that got saved. Here are the old Nissan Patrol Club America messages from the 'General' category. Warning, it's dusty in here!

Does anyone know what kind of differentials are used on the patrol? Also will any other brake master cylinder fit? I need to replace it or rebuild mine as my brakes are sticking. Do I have to tear apart the front end to get at the front brakes or do the drums just come off? And also sometimes when I drive the front end shake like crazy after hitting a bump then goes away, any ideas why?

My Patrol has pieces of flatbar for shackles unlike some of the shackels I have seen on origional Patrols. I then cut some 2x2 steel square tube the length of the inside dimension of the the shackles and bolted it between the shackles on both sets. This pretty much cured the problem on mine. You can use drop shackles sold at the auto parts store to replace the old ones. Sometimes they have the bar welded in already.I also have a brake mastercylinder out of a early 60's chevy pickup. You will have to widen the area to bolt the mastercylinder to in the engine comaprtment. Otherwise mine works fine. When you pull the tires of all you have to pull is the brakedrum and you will have full acsess to the brakes.Speck .
