Transmission sound?

I've been working on a 67 for a couple of months and just got it diving. I'm curious if the transmission is supposed to be loud or what? I know it's a stupid question but I don't have a clue about how it should sound. Sounds like an old jeep like the ones on MASH. Is this about right?

I guess the question I should have asked was if the transmission has straight or angle cut gears?
