6 Bolt 10 Spline Front Hubbs - Buyer Beware

Post by L60Boerne »

Just a note to say I have bought four (4) sets of 6 bolt, 10 spline front hubbs said to fit our Patrols. One fit, two did not and one set is still on the shelf. The non fitting hubbs had inside diameters that were too small to fit over the axle shafts of my red 1965. It is possible the front axle of the red 65 Patrol is aftermarket but that Patrol doesn't have very many miles on it and everything looks stock to me.

This I do know:
a). Selectro Power Train did not fit
b). Mile Marker did not fit.
c). One brand on the shelf in CO, Likely Mile Marker ...haven't tried them yet
d). If I recall I did replace the hubbs on Presidio Patrol and they fit perfectly onto the 1965 Presidio Patrol. I leaves next week for a ranch in N TX so I'm trying to get that brand before it leaves. They may have been WARN.

According to my old crusty Warn listing pamphlet the Land Cruiser and Patrol hubs were interchangeable with a bolt change. Can't say from experience yet but something to look into.

After more checking this weekend...the one set of hubs that did fit were Warn.

I have Warn M49 hubs for my patrol. I do have one M47 from a 10 spline land cruiser but never tested it. My 1969 had dualmatic's on it but unsure of a part number for them. the 1963 parts truck has AVM or something like that on it, one is busted though.
