Introducing the Patrol Sales Tracker

This is going to begin as a work in progress as far as requirements and format until we can get it fine tuned. We only want to collect data from confirmed sales, such as an eBay listing, or that of a member offering their sale data. Granted, an ended eBay listing is not necessarily a confirmed listing until the seller is paid and the vehicle delivered, but we will accept eBay listings at face value. Other confirmed sources would be any other auction listings available to the general public, such as Barrett-Jackson and BringaTrailer.com. Unfortunately craigslist doesn't provide that information, unless the buyer offers it here. Any suggestions or feedback will be welcome.

Unless a sale was extraordinary, I don't think it is necessary to track sales prior to 2011.

Here are some basic guidelines:

1. Sales data will consist of one post per vehicle. The post must include preferably at least 10 pictures of the vehicle if provided in the listing, more would be better. We want to accurately capture the condition of the vehicle. We all well know that the listing description cannot be relied upon for actual condition.

2. The original text of the listing must be provided as well, including the sale price and date. This might be a little tricky for less advanced PC users, so if you aren't able to do it just notify an admin of the listing and we will provide the data. The easiest way I have found to do this is to select 'File' in my browser, then select 'Export to PDF'. I am using Safari, so this might not be available to everyone. Even with this, the export cuts off the left side of the text. Then attach the PDF files to the post. If the original listing is not longer available or this is information from a private sale, provide as much information about the vehicle and the sale as possible.

3. Include a link to the site, if it is still active.

Once this data has been posted, an admin will add the data to the table below, in reverse chronological order with the most recent sales at the beginning.

If you want to provide the sale data for your own Patrol, regardless how long you have had it, we would be glad to have it. It will just help substantiate the rising values of our little obsession.

Here is the data to date that I could find. There is quite a gap between August 2014 and September 2015, I just couldn't find any confirmed information for that period.

I can report the purchase history of the two Patrols I have recently purchased.

1965 Softtop - 4L6002716 - The first record of sale in the file was to Mike Crowders was 2008 for $2,500. Then I purchased it from him Feb 2016 for $1,500.00, 67,000 miles on Odometer, it works but who knows.

1963 Hardtop - Green Machine from MadTripper - I haven't seen the VIN or vehicle yet. Maybe it is already on file? It should be, I would think. I arrives next week. I purchased it for $4,000.00

Great info to have, thanks. When you get Green machine, post a thread for each Patrol here in this category. Here is an example: http://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=4072. There are some basic guidelines in the first post of this thread. I really just need a few pictures to show what condition it was in at the time of sale. If you don't have the ad any longer that's fine.

Which reminds me that I need to add a couple from eBay.

This is purely personal opinion, formed over my own 30+ years buying and selling classic, custom, and novelty vehicles, but in general, I have found that the best time of year to find the largest population of potential buyers (and tire-kickers) is spring time. (April through early June)

However, when you are selling a really pristine classic (one that is more of a collectible) at a higher price point, then you are really shopping for a specific moment, and that moment/buyer could along at at any time, but it could take years...
