I am trying to locate an all-weather outdoor cover for the Patrol. It seems that no manufacturer has one in their database. Several have recommended I use an FJ40 or Jeep cover. From my research on dimensions I have found:
Patrol L60
176.8” length
68” width
73.7” height
110.3 wheel base
FJ40 1960 - 1974
151 3/16” length
65 35/64” width
76 49/61” height
90” wheel base
Presuming the above is correct (or please let me know if it is not), the FJ40 is too short in length. I could have a custom (rather than universal) cover made, however no manufacturer I have spoken to will install mirror pockets (for the driver door or passenger fender) until I test fit the cover, mark the location of the mirrors, and then return the cover to them.
So, has anyone found a cover that fits the Patrol?
Keith

Re: All weather outdoor cover
I have wanted one myself. My 98 Jeep is side by side with one of my Patrols in the garage. I have been wanting to check the dimensions between them, but haven't had time. I'll try to do that this afternoon.
I have also thought about the old 60s-early 70s Furd Bronco.

Re: All weather outdoor cover
The FJ40 cover fits exactly. I have gone through 2 of them. I would take a picture but the recent winds this week just destroyed my 2nd one.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Re: All weather outdoor cover
Leslie,
Did you make any modifications for the mirrors? (The first cover on my 240Z wore through at the antenna base, the mast was full retracted. The cover was the Evolution 4 material...a bit heavier duty material.)

No mods made other than removing the head on the right fender mounted mirror.

Re: All weather outdoor cover
In 2015 I had a cover manufactured using Evolution 4 material by Californian Car Covers. Version #1 cover arrived without the mirror pockets. I had to cut and mark the right side mirror pocket and return the cover to them. After receiving Version #2 cover, I had to cut and mark the left side mirror pocket and return the cover to them. Each reshipment to Californian Car Covers cost $40.
I am now planning to order from Covercraft the NOAH® cover. I will send the old cover to them to use as a pattern for the mirror pockets, this will avoid $80 in added shipping cost. If anyone is interested in purchasing a cover, the price is approximately $306 + tax, including shipping.
PM me if you want details.
