Let me think about how best to place and label it. It has to be clear to newcomers what it depicts. And if for 'true' '69s why stop there when the are uniquenesses for other groups of US Patrols. And it needs to be clear that there are crossover compatibilities, especially with the '68-sold-as-a-'69 so as not to confuse those owners. For instance the hood prop, fender vents and body panels. If you a aren't aware of these similarities you'll just confuse the issue.

And, you know you'll need to include pictures of comparisons, something both of you are the worst about.

He needs the later style. Those gauges have the push on connectors, he needs the screw on connectors.

Riverpatrol- Aside from the different connections ( screw on vs spade), do you know if the earlier style gauge cluster would work on my 67 with the screw-on connections? Your wealth of Patrol knowledge is amazing and a true resource to Patorl owners across the world!

No, try they won’t. When they changed to the spade connector is also when they introduced the gauge regulator. You an change the connectors but two of the gauges won’t work without the regulator inline in the wiring. Been there, done that.

I looked at both my 67 and 68 gauges and they both had the spade connectors. When I disassembled the trucks the wiring harness wasn't spliced in either one.

Maybe that's something else they were fuzzy on changing for model years?

Do you know where the gauge regulator is located? I'm sure I have that also.

River- do you know where the voltage regulator for the gauges is located? I know there is a voltage regulator mounted to the right internal fender, does this also regulate the voltage to the gauges?

'67 was the first year for the spade connectors on the gauges, and the addition of the gauge regulator. The gauge regulator is not the same as the voltage regulator. It is physically located below the dash to the left of the steering wheel on the firewall. I've identified it in this wiring diagram.
