Replacing Carb

I was looking to replace my carb, the shaft is worn and leaks! So i went to my parts store and was told $130.00 (if he could find one) or have mine rebuilt for about the same. This was from Monument Auto parts. Is NAPA cheaper? I live in CA, SF bay area. Any help would help!

If you search the net using the terms "Rochester 7015013" you will find a few hits. One of those places sells rebuilt carbs. They had one the last time I checked and it ran around $85 US. I would go that route versus rebuilding your Hitachi carb. That Rochester was used on the '69 Patrol as OEM. David

I have just found out that the Rochester #7015013 is not a part number but an application code and that this carb was produced in '57-'61, no wonder it gets lousy fuel mileage. No one cared when gas was under 50 cents a gallon. My rebuild kit and NAPA store says that this is a Rochester "B", "BC"or a"BV" carb. I am currently looking into a Redline Weber Carb K550 Kit to replace the Rochester. Their claim (and I tend to agree with them) is that you will get up to 18% better mileage and up to 20% increase in horsepower and torque. The bad news is that a new Weber is $396.00. If you drive your Patrol as much as I drive mine you should make up the money in about a year. I'm going for it.

I have not had to "rebuild" a carb yet with a kit. The kit does not include many parts that attribute to most of the failure. The biggest things wrong with the carb will be the float setting which is easily adjusted and the mixture which is even easier. The carb should also be cleaned out well and should perform near new with that. I bought a kit from NAPA for $30 or so and never needed it for the carbs I have gone through and cleaned and adjusted... jeepcj_6@yahoo.com

I wish that that was all I had to do! I had to replace it because the throttle shaft was worn. It runs good now!

There is a factory carb available from Nissan, if I can find the part # I will post it ASAP under this topic. I believe it was less than 150.00 cost. I have been running it now for over 2yrs and 30,000 miles and very happy with results.
