Been around for a while

Post by RED DOG »

Hi all, first time posting here but been involved in G60s for many years now, have a few friends on here aswel that I've met through FB, G60michael, GNU, Ross, ferdy, limited slip to name a few.
Currently rebuilding a 79 ute that I've picked up earlier this year, and hope to have it on the road by early next year, little rust that needs fixing otherwise just needs the usual mechanical going over.
Also have been chasing my fathers old brown/white g60 custom lwb, many of you may know me from.
I'm from NSW Australia, cheers Dave :D

Welcome to 60Patrol! :text-welcomeconfetti: That's a nice looking ute. More and more of those keep turning up down there. Looks like it should be an easy project, keep us posted with your progress. :D
Beyond any hope for intervention

Hi Red Dog, You have the same year model as I have and are rebuilding it. Yours looks like an easy refurbish. What is the condition of the quarter glass rubbers on the door? Mine are pretty sad  I am trying to get new rubber but so far Zippo :x Most of the rubber companies here just don't get it. The moment you mention 1979, they shake their heads and say we don't have anything back that far. I am trying China now. It would be good to confer with you during your refurbish. I have posted 1 pic so far and will pop another as I get more done. :)

Hi Daves Bluey, sorry for a delayed reply, i had troubles submitting a comment here through my phone...dont know why.
I believe there is a straight bit of rubber that is a similar profile for the 1/4 rubbers, just need to cut it and glue it to the window shape, someone like "old auto rubber" should have what you're looking for.
Cheers

Thanks Red Dog for your reply. I'll give it a go as there is nowhere to buy them new that I have been able to source. :)
