The 4WD club I am a member of had a trip to Old Geehi. Its an absolutely beautiful spot, especially at this time of year.
There were a few classic vehicles, - 2 x Series 1 Land Rovers (1950 and 1953) plus my Patrol and about 7 other vehicles.
There were a few water crossings, including the Murray River.
Plus we spent a day doing some difficult 4WDing. The Series 1 vehicles didn't do that activity but my Patrol joined in. It didn't have a problem. We had some very steep fire trails that were heavily eroded. It didn't hesitate!
No photos here as I needed 2 hands on the wheel!
Overall I did 500 Kms (300miles) over the 4 days and that included about 150Kms (100miles) of fairly hard 4WDing. The Patrol didn't fault. I checked it out today and no damage or problems what so ever.
My vehicle only travels at 80kms/hr (50mph) so on the Monday of a Public Holiday on the way home there was a very long queue of traffic behind me
Geehi was an absolutely lovely spot. You could camp down by the river. It rained one night but over all the weather was great.
Highly recommended place to explore.
