Re: Texas to Berkeley California
Day 2 total driving 590 miles. Small issues with the points and condenser. I’d bet they’ve been on there 15 years. Took awhile to get it sorted. Made it to Gallup, NM where it’s a mild 19 degrees F.

Re: Texas to Berkeley California
You have eclipsed in one day the total combined milage I've been able to put in both Patrols.
What kind of speed can you maintain?
Keep those extra fuel cans full.
Heard of a guy in South Africa that sports dual fuel cans on his rear panels.
One is labeled gin .... the other tonic.
Patrol safely on!

Re: Texas to Berkeley California
As far as speed I’ve been averaging about 63mph. Typical I’m cruising at 65 and I’ve hit as fast as 77 and as slow as 45 floored through Muleshoe, TX with a 30mph headwind. I’ve consumed 80 gallons of gasoline in a bit over 800 miles. Once I sorted the points condenser and timing my economy has picked up 2 mpg. Which means with my two Jerry cans and a full tank I can make it 400 miles.
This Patrol is happier with every mile she gets. So.... in short. Who’s up to challenge most miles on a patrol in 2018?
Having a blast.
Brian

Re: Texas to Berkeley California
This is a true statement. Putting some good miles on a Patrol gets the kinks worked out and lubes everything up like it hasn't been in decades.Bkippen wrote:This Patrol is happier with every mile she gets.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Re: Texas to Berkeley California
Brian, you are truely on an epic journey and I've never said that before. Keep notes..... there is a soul searching book in there somewhere.
I can't image maintaining even 55 mph. Once I get mine reliable we gotta Patrol through the Rockies with Plateau Cal and others.
Maybe Moab which is midway. But you must darken my door in Lake City to reclaim your hard top so we have purpose! I'm almost there
I pick up CCV6 at 11:00 am in the morning.
I'm talking stories around the fire at 10,000 ft.
Travel safe,
L60
