I spent the last six months scouring eBay, hemmings, Craigslist, BAT for a FJ40. I need a daily driver so it has to be mechanically sound and in need of little work. All the FJs in that condition are well out of my price range. I stumbled across an article that mentioned nissan's answer to the CJ and FJ. I googled it, fell in love with the simplistic, utilitarian design and was consumed. I found this 67 beauty in a showroom 45 minutes from my house and was able to see past the Jamaican theme paint job. It runs great! Drivetrain is in pristine condition (formerly owned by a mechanic).

My plan is to make it my primary every day vehicle. Short range, I plan on installing an electric fuel pump, three point seat belt (for my 7 year old).

Long range. Paint and hopefully find a hard top. Keeping it as original and unmolested as possible.
I don't know how to lower the pixels on my iPad, I'll upload pics when I figure it out

Welcome to 60Patrol! You're not the first FJ fan the Patrol has converted. You've come to the right place for all of your Patrol related questions.

Can't wait to see the pics! iPad and iPhone don't make it easy to resize pictures. There is an app you can get to do that. It's a PITA but you could also email the picture to yourself. You'll get a prompt when sending to choose the size of the pictures, selecting large is a good size for attaching here.

Thank you RiverPatrol, I would have never figured that out. Like I said I'll eventually paint it. A local mechanic talked me out of adding an electric fuel pump.

I thought that might have been the Patrol you were referring to. Not many Jamaican paint schemes in FL on Patrols. Confusing because someone else just posted that this was their new DD. I hope you're related.

I found the post you are talking about. I'm not sure who that is or where he got the pic but that is the same patrol. I took the hunting platform off and the other after market mods. That's weird, I bought it from a local classic car dealer so maybe he had a deposit on it and did not pick it up in time.

Thank you! I just picked up two boxes of old parts from the original owner. He kept great care of it and it doesn't hurt that he was a mechanic too. I've been trying to figure out how to upgrade the brake master cylinder to either a double barrel or much more improved single. Upgrade the shoes as well, any suggestions that do not require major mods or brains would be much appreciated.
