I guess I don't quite understand the problem. If your glass guy can get any gasket material that will work, he's smarter then anyone that I have found. J.C. Whitney has a large selection of gasket material but you have to select what you think is the right one. I think all the glass in the Patrol is tempered. And that means the instant your glass guy trys to cut it to fit his gasket the windshield will break into a million pieces. I had my windshield replaced for $100 but I had to threaten the guy with death if he screwed up the rubber gasket. Lastly, have you talked to any of the supply houses that provide materials for automobiles i.e. Paint, gaskets etc.? Some of the bigger shops have a suprising selection of goodies. Good Luck, Gary

Well, you will be disappointed to learn that I just sold a windshield gasket last week for a mere $25. Seemed to be no interest in it. I do have a complete windshield in the frame though. It has the 3 vents. No cracks. Ready to bolt onto your truck. To get me windshield replaced in my other truck cost my insurance company $208 to have the glass cut and installed. They did it RIGHT though. Will sell the frame, glass, and rubber all for $300 plus shipping. If you gotta have it then it's a steal! Try to do it all separately and it will cost MUCH more! jeepcj_6@yahoo.com

Hey Alex One thing to remember on nissanautoparts.com.... It is a two step process. First step is to type the part number in and see if it show the part number is still active ie when you type it in it returns with the part number, price, etc. Instead of returing with NOT VALID NUMBER. Assuming it is still active you go onto step two, try and order it, at which point they will actually try and get you the part. Problem is that the number may still be active, but the parts may no longer exist. Grant

Hi Grant, Well, when I looked it said it was in stock and gave me price, and the price was low enough I was tempted to buy one even though I don't need one, yet I suppose though, eh?

>>Well, when I looked it said it was in stock and gave me price, When you looked... as in looking at Nissan Auto Parts online part number search? If so, keep in mind what I mentioned before... Just because it gives you a price does not mean it is in stock! Nor does it mean that the part is still avalable to get! All it *means* is that part number is still in NISSAN data base. Which is not allways the case for old PATROL part numbers! So, when Nissan Auto Parts shows you a price, bascially it is a good sign that the part *might* be avalable, in that the part number is still active (ie in the data base). Some parts when you type in the part number dont return a price, it will return with a NOT VALID PART NUMBER. Which means that not only is the part no longer aval from NISSAN but it has not been aval for a long long time.... So long that they removed it from thier data base. >>and the price was low enough I was tempted to buy one even >>though I don't need one, yet I suppose though, eh? I tired to order one months ago, but they havent had them for years. So I told, I think our best chance would be to order it from a NISSAN dealer in AUS. I ordered some of the old round front blinkers lens from a NISSAN dealer in AUS a few months back, I got like 5 of them... and the guy told me they were the last 5 in AUS. So, they might still have the gasket? Keep in mind they made the 60s seires PATROL in AUS up until 1979. Grant
