Re: PTO shift lever

I have a microfiche and print of a 1970 parts catalog and it shows the following. the bend in the lever may allow it to come through the side of the tunnel. My 1969 has a PTO but no lever and the rubber plug was in the hole so I do not think it was ever hooked up... there is an overwhelming amount of orange seal where it attaches to the trans so it was added late in life I am sure.

The rubber plug on the side of the mission cover on the '69 is for access tot he clutch slave cylinder for bleeding. The PTO shifter never comes through that hole. They cut a hole in the floor pan just behind that access hole and the shifter comes up through the floor.

Here is a thread that discusses the PTO shifter a bit. http://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopic ... PTO#p35043
Beyond any hope for intervention

Here's the shift lever from the above picture:

I have dismantled this chassis. The PTO is installed on my Patrol - however, I haven't installed the shift lever yet. Fortunate enough to also have the transmission tunnel from the chassis. The locking device for the pto shifter wasn't that high tech. When I get this installed on the minion missile, hopefully we can rectify that.

I was wondering if you would recognize that pic. I have seen a couple lockouts that had a spring type catch. Not sure they had anything originally. DId you ever have any luck in getting the rolling chassis up your way yet?

I did get the chassis up here. Found someone who was willing to take the load. It was expensive, but it was less expensive as compared to some other alternatives out there. It is completely dismantled at this point. The frame is destined for a new home in Pennsylvania. The axles and transmission will be rehabilitated for the Minion Misslie. I have the engine tucked away in the garage - no immediate plans for it.

Picked up a Koenig C-100 winch over the weekend. it was mounted on a 1 ton 1977 Dodge. I will be keeping the fairlead and the drum guard to reuse when I build a new winch mount for my 1967 Patrol. I have a PTO that I kept off the 1969 that I sold.5764576557675769
