1971 Nissan Patrol

Post by KyleAnschuetz »

Hi guys, I`m Kyle and on Friday I am picking up this Nissan Patrol:

http://nissanpatrolusa.com/1972-resto-p ... asunna-nj/

I`m looking forward to doing a frame off restoration, and I am very happy that I found this forum.

I`m looking forward to learning from everyone.

Thanks,
Kyle

Welcome to 60Patrol! :text-welcomeconfetti: Congratulations on your new project Patrol. It will be great to watch your progress as you bring this baby back to life.

When you get it, find the VIN and engine number and I'll add it to the registry with all of the others. The VIN listed in the ad is incorrect, but it might be the engine number.

Hi guys!

River Patrol, That is the VIN in the engine bay and it`s the VIN on the title: P0909 53 . This Nissan was imported from Mexico and I think it`s from 1971, but the title says 1972.

Esteban, I am located near Gettysburg PA.

Now I have some questions. The Nissan is riddled with Rust. The rear frame and the cross member are pretty close to being shot. I would like to replace them in sections. is there any where to get these? I was thinking about reaching out to throttle down kustoms and seeing if they could make the frame pieces, but I wanted to check here first and see what everyone thinks.

Thanks,
Kyle

Could you please provide pictures? It's possible that an agency applied that VIN to the vehicle, because that is not a Patrol VIN in any country. If the original VIN tag is missing you can still find the VIN stamped on the frame in the engine compartment.

Frame pieces have never been available. But, you're in luck. Your neighbor in CT, mad4hws, has a frame that he needs to get rid of. Check it out here: http://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopic ... 5&start=75

You're less than 2 hours away from where I am. Great! I live near Leesburg in Virginia.

Regarding the VIN, what they probably use is the engine number. Could be a 72. I used to have a 74 that I totaled, and the engine number was 108648.
