Thank you to all. The overflow leak was stopped I think by a new Tridon radiator cap. Here is the last pic before the new card arrives.

Lastly, I will have several more OEM and aftermarket parts to send to those in need. I know I have several of those chrome oil filler caps, glass globe fuel filter, jump seats, generator, parts to a distributor and a few others things but I've got to get a few events past me before I can start sending them out....Prob about May.

Greetings from the Patrol Pit,
The rebuilt carb from Carbs Unlimited in Auburn, WA worked great. Next, Presidio Patrol had the mechanical fuel pump bypassed in favor of the newer electric pump when purchased. Unless I hear something different from the forum...... I plan to pull the working mechanical fuel pump off The Green Machine, replace that one with the new fuel pump I have in inventory and then send the Green Machine's pump off for rebuilding at Now and Then Auto...when rebuilt I will put it on Presidio Patrol thus converting it back to a mechanical pump.

Patrollees....by now you know I know little and spend way to much money to gain knowledge. I'm typing slow so you don't miss a word. ......never go to an external electric fuel pump unless it in some way extends your life or someone you love. My cost/learning curve on electric fuel pumps over the last two weeks has been horrendous. Silly me, I thought big names like Holley would make a quiet fuel pump, though I went through several brands. They are all horrible in terms of noise.

Just a note for the those on the fence. My advice, rebuild that mechanical OEM pump!

Regarding the fuel pump, you can still get a new one at one of the forklift parts places. I saved this info that another member posted. I just checked, and they do have at $144.77 + S&H.

Once in that page, enter 17010-L6200 into the Part Number field. I'm sure all the three choices presented are the same, but you can choose the Nissan one.

Thank you Esteban, I read the thread you referenced. I bought a fuel pump from Forklifts about 6 months ago and that one was put on The Green Machine yesterday....fit like a glove...as the thread indicated. However...when I ordered it they said it was the last one and their supplier was out as well. I tried their website with the item number and their search engine came up empty as well. If they are available I might buy one for inventory because inline fuel pumps are too noisy for hunting.

Presidio Patrol is going to make me a fortune! I opened the hood and oil was oozing from the motor. It is just drip..Drip.. I might get a barrel a day unless I find the right seal.
I'm willing to will my oil find to my kids if someone would be kind enough confirm it appears to be the cylinder head gasket .

It's also good to verify that the plug wires are all still in their correct location. It's possible to have a couple swapped that are close in firing-order and still have the engine run "semi" OK.

i know on my p40 i had the wiring reversed with #1 cylinder at rad side instead of firewall and it started and ran, albeit rough

The oil seems to be coming from the valve cover. At that place in the head gasket, you don't have any oil with pressure, so you'll need some blow-by of the gases to push the oil out. Very unlikely.

The oil seal from the valve cover gets hardened over time and will cause these leaks, specially after a number of openings of the cover, coupled with the fact that people tend to over tighten the 3 nuts that hold the cover in place, and that pushes out the sides of the cover and no longer the seal is in the same spot as before.

I personally have become used to having some minor leaks. I have no one to blame except me, since I assembled the rebuilt engine on mine.
