1962 patrol paint codes

If it doesn't fit in the others but is 60 series related, post it up.

1962 patrol paint codes

Post by Global 4wd »

Greetings,
i am restoring a 62 patrol and I am trying to find out what paint codes were available for a 62 patrol in Australia. The one that I have is a light green in colour and was looking at other options as long as it was an original colour for a 62 model. As well as engine, gear box, transfer case colours. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Thanks for the info. What about exterior body paint for a 62. Currently it is a light green which looks original. But I am curious to know what other colours were available in 1962???

Thanks

As far as I know, there isn't any documentation that lists the color options for '62. There were red, white, light green and light blue that I recall. Possibly a pastel yellow, I'm not sure when that came out but I have only seen on early ones.

Hi Andrew-

I have a copy of the 62 Patrol parts book and service manual, and it does not list any paint related information in it at all (at least not in english), but about 40% of the book is in japanese :?

Like RiverPatrol states above; from the very few color photos of 62 patrols out there, red (nissan 524 code), light green (also called leaf green, nissan code 546), white (nissan code 502), yellow (nissan code 541), and blue (nissan code 564) were most certainly colors that were offered on 62 patrols.

It is also probable that there was a darker green used on 62's (because my own 62 wears a darker, metallic green as its original color) but it has been VERY difficult trying to trace down exactly what color code that should be

If you have any of the original paint on your 62 still exposed, then the best thing to do would be to buff out and polish a small section , and post a clear photograph of it in full sun, here on the forum. From that photo, we might be able to help you figure out the correct Nissan paint code that you have...

Thanks for all the feedback. On the information you have given me I am pretty sure it would be the leaf green paint code 546. I am not real keen on that colour so I am looking at the Nissan white paint code 502. I would appreciate any information on front and rear seat colours. The 62 currently has a grey rear seat and black front seats which look original Iam not sure why Nissan would have had a different colour in there seats. Does anyone know what colour and texture the vinyls would have been in 62???

Thanks

The front and rear seats on the '62 were both gray vinyl.
