BAM Autiomotive, Alpine Texas - Patrol Rebuilding Shop
I wanted to wait until our 63 & 65 were further along but it is a sloooow process out there. However, they have been fixing and rebuilding 4x4s since the 1950s. Van is the Dean of the Old School. My confidence in their finished product precedes my first hand experience.
If you have no time or skills, like me and want your Patrol rehabilitated correctly...but slowly.... then send it to BAM Automotive. They have a full set of rebuild drawings, parts sources and paint schemes. All metalwork is cut and patched, no bondo.
Cost................ likely 30-40% less than you would expect.Visiting BAM is a win-win, Alpine is an awesome Texas town with 6,000 ft peaks riming the town which sits at 4000 ft of elevation and 100 miles North of Big Bend. Hello....the place to actually use your Patrol!
This is not a flashy shop waiting for a reality show, just a shop that appreciates Patrols and the like. Sue and Van are a hoot, plus you will love the area; McDonald Observatory, Ft. Davis & Marfa & Cibolo Creek Ranch...yes the one SCJ Scalia passed away at.

Re: BAM Autiomotive, Alpine Texas - Patrol Rebuilding Shop
I am sad to report that the reason for so few updates/pictures concerning the progress of Presidio Patrol from El Choppo in OJ, MX is because El Choppo became ill this summer. We have picked up Presidio Patrol and it is in pretty sad condition. I can only speculate as to how many pieces are missing. We now double our efforts to get it operational for the Feb 2017 Big Bend Patrol.

BAM Automotive, Alpine TX needs to be taken off the list. Yes they can fix old 4x 4s but their remote location leads to significant delays.

Very sorry to hear that. Hope you find somebody else to take care of Presidio Patrol.

Re: BAM Autiomotive, Alpine Texas - Patrol Rebuilding Shop
We retrieved Presidio Patrol this weekend. It is a sad story. BAM worked us over good and it isn't over yet. Normally W TX folks set the bar for straight shooting, but that was far from our experience.
We are still hopeful to get this one rolling by February.
