Next thing to be fixed.

My clutch. I just finished up running new wire for my ignition starter and alternator. I go to give the old beast a test start and it fires right up. Jump in press the clutch and the !&$@ peddle goes easily to the floor and will not go into any gear. Seriously!? So here is the results of my trouble shooting.
First things first: 1969 patrol. Hydraulic clutch.
1. Pedal can be depressed easily but will spring back up when released.
2. When the beast isn't running I can put it in gear and when I hit the starter it will try to lurch forward
3. I don't see any leaks around the master or slave cylinder
4 when I depress the pedal with my hand and look under there is no movement of the slave cylinder.

I think my issue is with the slave and I my go ahead and change out the master as well.

Here's my questions. Am I on the right track? And, does any one know what master and slave cylinders are a fit ? I don't need original parts. Anybody changed these out and used replacements found in the auto parts stores or Amazon?

you can't make this stuff up. the exact same thing happened to me. I'm starting with the slave cylinder.

I love the beast and the project but damn. Have you found a slave cylinder that is a fit for yours?

i bought one off of ebay from OEM alternatives. He's got a lot of stuff for patrols. I think he sources from Colombia, but he's based in Texas. I don't know that he sells the slave cylinder all by itself.

I bought a master cylinder at the same time. Just figure I'll do them both while I'm there. 4WD products in AUS also sells these, as well as repair kits. I'm placing an order there for other stuff and will order a repair kit for each so that I have it ready to go next time...

Be careful with the OEM Alternatives guy, that's all I'm gonna say.
