15" steelies and new tires
So after almost a year of owning my Patrol
- I've accomplished what I wanted to with my wheels and tires. The truck came with some chrome wheels, (off a 70s Jeep I suppose), and super wide 10.5" ballon tires. I found some 15" steelies on Craigslist, as close as I could match to the originals. As for tires, I was a little limited due to the 15" rims - but I found these STA Super Traction Bia Ply 78-15LT tires. I have the original spare, so I tried my best to match the dimensions and tread - a pretty good match... Here's how they look!

I was debating swapping out my wheels for wider ones and putting on taller tires. Have to say that your set up looks fantastic. I think I'll do the same with the Minion Missile....

Great choice and looking good. That is probably going to be the tires I eventually put on my 63.

Re: 15" steelies and new tires
Patrolees,
I would be interested in all your opinions. I am looking at the 31.5 x 10.5 r15 BFG Mud Terrains simply because the 3 ply sidewall is so important where we Patrol. Question? With a 1" lift will my stock 63 wheel wells accept a 10.5" wide tire without rubbing under all conditions?
I'd also like any key words you used to search for that 15" steel wheels on Craigslist.
Thanks in advance,
L60Boerne
