Patrolling Baja?

The Aussie's did the Simpson Desert and are now planning a second trip.

I have done Baja, Mexico twice now, both 4 week trips. Seems like a lot of Patrols are located in states next to Baja. Socal, New Mexico, Arizona. I am sure some of you have been to Baja, if not, you are missing out! Seems like the perfect place for a Patrol as well as an organized group event. Myself, I may not have a Patrol ready for that trip for another year or two. When I do, I think I will take one down. In the meantime, I am Baja hooked! I will be going down next winter, at least for 2 weeks but likely 4+ weeks.

The speed limit in all of Baja is 55mph. The best tacos in the world are in Mexico! Free beaches to camp on and thousands of miles of dirt roads. It really is a perfect place for a Patrol road trip. Like I say, I will be going down next winter in my Cruiser, I would be happy to lead or guide a group of Patrols. The winter after that I will probably have the Ute ready and when it is, I plan to take it down there for a shake down run and to break in the truck.

Any ways, just an idea.

I am thinking my Patrol spent a lot of time in Baja(still has the Mexican insurance sticker in the window) I don't know if I will be ready this year, but if I can get it dependable I would go in a heartbeat.

I like where this is going. Nothing is more fun than getting out with some old rigs and pray that they make it. It normally takes me at least a year to strengthen those parts I break in the first year. I don't have the time for 2-4 weeks in the Baja but I applaud the theme. We are offering the Big Bend State Park Patrol in Feb 2017 as a lesser Patrol option to the Baja. The BBSP Patrol should not break anything, it isn't that tough. You can expect paint scratches from ocotillo scrapes.
