Thinking of buying a 67 patrol looking for info?

Always been into offroad, never like the conventional options here in the states. I have had a few IH scouts and an early bronco but just couldn't get into the jeep thing. When I was a kid I saw one of these patrols out on a trail and thought it was pretty cool but have not seen to many of them. Recently came across one for 1500 us in running condition that needs some minor work. My question is how hard is it to find parts for these things? The one I'm looking at needs the rear ambulance doors for the top and a new master cylinder. I'm thinking of picking it up for a project but don't have a ton of money to throw at it. Anything I should be aware of? Can you give me any pointers on what to look for?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to 60Patrol! You found the right place for all of your Patrol questions.

$1500 for a running Patrol is a very fair price. Other things to consider are the condition of the body, how many miles are on it and has the engine ever been rebuilt.

Guaranteed that the brakes need more than just a master cylinder. All of the front and rear wheel cylinders will need to be replaced or rebuilt if they haven't been. That's a total of 6.

Parts are not impossible to find. Some parts are rarer than other. Don't expect to go to your local parts store and find anything for the Patrol other than fuses, a fan belt and other generic items. We have a whole community here dedicated to helping people locate what they need to bring their Patrol back to life, but plan on spending some money.

Thank you for the response, it has an inline 6 cylinder motor are they specific to these vehicles or can they be found in other vehicles for parts?
And thanks for the heads up on the brakes something I will take into consideration while negotiating my price!

The motor is only used in 60 series Patrols. There is a 2nd generation P40 engine that is almost exactly the same that was used in the next series of Patrols, and in forklifts. So engine parts are pretty readily available.

Alright, well looks like I need to take some costs into consideration. Like I said I don't have a ton of money to throw at it but would love to get my hands on one! Thanks for the input, I'll see what I can work out with the guy to make it worth my while

I'm gettin' here late, but welcome 60Patrol. Patrols here in the US are pretty cool, in that, most people don't know what they are.
