Rubber plug for spare tire carrier- BUMPER-CARRIER
Does anyone know a generic part that is interchangeable with the BUMPER-CARRIER (part number 57291-44000)?

Try steele rubber products under suspension parts. There are several chassis rubber plugs that may fit the bill.

Do you have a photo (and measurements) of the actual plug?

Tell us what worked.
The axel on the carriers get worn and elongated the hole so either fix the holes and get new rubber or use a spacer/base under the rubber to make it squish hard so the bloody spare will stop squeaking/rattling.

Re: Rubber plug for spare tire carrier- BUMPER-CARRIER
Here is a photo of an original 1967 plug:

1-1/20" high (from mounting surface to crown)
1-1/10" wide (at base)
I was not able to remove the mounting stem, so I do not have the dimensions.
Naturally, 47 year old rubber shrinks, so I am not certain of the original dimensions.
Please post photos of your contemporary replacement part.
Thanks,
Keith

All I can say is "very nice".
This is the closest I have found off-the-shelf.
Are you planning to offer any for sale/trade?
