That's the aftermarket Helmar distributor for the P40 forklift engine.

Here is a list of all the part numbers for replacement caps, rotors, points, condensors, etc....

You might be in luck. If your Patrol is still sporting the original tail lights - large round mounted at the ends of the bumper - I was digging through stuff looking for an ignition switch for Ozzie and I came across a lens that I can part with. PM me if you're interested.

Thanks River, lens showed up today.
Still not doing much as I'm prepping the truck, and going to see what the registration does.

So I got the Patrol its own battery today, lining it up and dropping it in the hole is the proper install method, right?

Have work to do to the truck, the muter, the race truck, and the patrol, plus finish the ditch to the shop for 220. So upgrades will be slow.

Any one want to school me on getting this thing in my name in California. It is 14 years out and off the books. I have no clue who the last registered owner was.

Here is a thread discussing registration processes: http://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopic ... ion#p15762

Here are the steps I take, as provided to me by a friend that does the vehicle inspection for me:
Place the following statement in section "G" on this form:
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/reg/reg256.pdf
Sign with sellers name and signature.

I, SELLERS NAME AM SELLING 1973 JEEP VIN# XXXXXX TO
Your Name Here FOR THE SUM OF $1000.
THIS VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS – IS. IT DOES NOT RUN
AND REQUIRES RESTORATION. I HAVE OWNED THIS
VEHICLE MORE THAN 20 YEARS AGO, IT HAS NOT
BEEN TOWED, LICENSED OR OPERATED ON ANY
STREETS OR HIGHWAYS. I NEVER REGISTERED IT AND
I LOST THE ORIGINAL TITLE IN A FIRE. THERE ARE NO
LIENS, LOANS OR ANY OUTSTANDING INTERESTS IN
THIS VEHICLE AND IT IS BEING SOLD FREE AND
CLEAR TO YOUR NAME HERE THIS VEHICLE HAS
BEEN STORED AT ADDRESS OF SELLER HERE SINCE
IT WAS ACQUIRED.

Fill out this form with sellers address information and dates to match
statement of facts, signed by seller (they may not use this but better
to have it incase they want it)
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/reg/reg102.pdf

Fill out this bill of sale with matching information on the address and sale amount
for the sellers information used on your statement of facts:
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/reg/reg135.pdf

Fill out this form with YOUR information:
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/reg/reg343.pdf

Take everything with the verification form to the DMV and don't
say anything!! Just ask them "HOW MUCH?" with your wallet
in your hand and they should be happy to take your money!

The above process has worked flawlessly for me on several occasions. The trick is you need to get the vehicle inspection done and have the form filled out correctly. DMV can do the inspection.

Hope this helps.
